The grandaddy of farm experiences in the St. Louis area is the Eckert’s family farm on the Illinois side of the river. Both the Belleville and Millstadt locations offer trees, but the Belleville farm has the best selection. Cut-your-own trees are priced at $35 and $45. Don’t forget to shop for handcrafted food gifts at Eckert’s Country Store or have a slice of pie in the restaurant while you’re there. Meert Tree Farm

Choose-and-cut trees at Meert are priced at $5-$9 per foot, depending on the variety. Select from Scotch, White Pine, Canaan Fir, Norway Spruce or pre-cut Fraser Fir trees. Saws are provided and your tree will be wrapped. On weekends, Meert has mini-train rides for the kids, wagon rides out to the tree farm and a Christmas shop.

Sullivan Farms operates several pre-cut tree lots in the St. Louis area, but the one in Florissant is unique. This lot is set up to give the look and feel of a live forest, with more than 300 trees. Local delivery is free. Sullivan offers about a dozen varieties of trees, from tabletop size to 16 feet tall. If you don’t have time to drive out to a real farm, you can get a tree farm experience at this city lot.
Sunbrite Christmas Tree Farm

Sunbrite Farm offers a real country forest experience, just five minutes off Highway 70 in St. Charles County. Stroll through 70 acres of pine, spruce and fir trees to choose the perfect one for your home. Trees are priced at just $3.30 per foot (so a six-foot tree is $19), and the price is the same whether you choose a pre-cut tree or cut your own. Sunbrite has trees up to 22 feet tall.
