PEVELY, Mo. (KMOX) – Owner of Pure Pleasure Boutique Don Kleinhans faced a room full of residents and city officials Monday night.

The City of Pevely has been issuing two citations a day and has denied water service to an adult store; Pure Pleasure Boutique at the I-55 exit.

Owner Don Kleinhans says he sells what he calls romance enhancement items and marital aids, nothing that the Target store in Arnold or the Walmart store in Jefferson County aren’t already selling.

“Now they’ve got every type of lube , flavored, all these different companies that use to sell to the adult stores are selling quite heavily to all these main stream stores now” said Kleinhans.

Kleinhans met with Pevely officials Monday night in an open meeting that drew about sixty people, most opposed to the Pure Pleasure Boutique.

Pevely officials said they would have a decision on January 3rd on whether to let him operate legally.

To the person who told Chris to learn to type–He is an adult who has autism and I appreciate the efforts he makes to be involved in his community. Perhaps if you lived in his world for a little while, you’d see him from a different perspective.
