UNION, MO. (KMOX) – Opponents of a coal ash landfill proposed for Franklin County will have to wait longer to have their say.

Due to weather, County Commissioners have postponed a public hearing that was scheduled tonight.   The meeting will now take place next Thursday, January 20th.  The meeting was supposed to allow more time for comment, than was available at a previous meeting.

Members of the community have been fighting a proposal to change county rules on utility landfills.  Ameren wants to build a storage site for the by-products of burning coal, next to it’s Labadie Power Plant.
