ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – St. Louisan and former Missouri state GOP Chair Ann Wagner could be selected today to lead the national Republican Party. The 168 members of the Republican National Committee are set to decide who should serve as party chairman during the 2012 election cycle.
Wagner served as the national committee co-chair from 2001 to 2005 and was once an ambassador under
George W. Bush. She says the RNC is broken and needs to completely re-evaluate how it operates.
Wagner is one of four challengers to the GOP Chairman’s post now held by Michael Steele. The challengers accuse Steele of financial mismanagement and poor stewardship during his two-year tenure.
