ST. LOUIS, MO. (KMOX) — St. Louis has been passed over in its bid to host the 2012 Democratic National Convention. Charlotte, North Carolina will host the convention.

Mayor Slay’s Chief of Staff Jeff Rainford said it was a political decision, “It seems like they wanted to be in the south, and I think they wanted to have influence on the outcome of the presidential election.”

Rainford says when it comes to hotel rooms and transportation options, St. Louis was the best *logistical* choice, and that the city will likely try again for the 2016 convention.

    told you so slay/rainford, ashame taxpayer $$$ had to be wasted to prep the city for the bid.
    now we just wait for the bad news from lambert on the much hyped china hub.
