EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) –  An aspiring rapper accused of writing a note threatening a “murderous
rampage” while he attended Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville in 2007 says he’s unsure if he’ll ever stand trial.

Olutosin Oduwole tells the Belleville News-Democrat he’s “playing the waiting game” on whether he’ll be tried on what he calls a frivolous felony count of attempting to make a terrorist threat.

Oduwole was charged in 2007 after police found a note in his car vowing violence similar to the Virginia Tech shootings unless he was paid $50,000.

Authorities say they also found ammunition in his car and a loaded handgun in his on-campus apartment.

Now living with his father in New Jersey, Oduwole has pleaded not guilty and says the note merely was rap lyrics.
