ST. LOUIS (KMOX) __ An Alton, Illinois woman is arrested and police are looking for a second suspect in last Sunday’s fatal shooting of a Missouri National Guardsman.
The St. Louis Post Dispatch reports 18-year-old Jacqueline Baron is charged with second degree murder in the death of 32-year-old Lawrence Valiant. He was killed during an apparent robbery attempt outside his Ferguson apartment. Baron’s bail is set at one million dollars.
Ferguson police say Baron showed up at Valiant’s apartment with an unidentified man and a fight broke out. Police say the man with Baron fired the shots.
Valiant worked for the Missouri Guard’s 1035th Maintenance Company at Jefferson Barracks and also reported to the 735th Force Provider Company in Desoto.
