COLUMBIA, MO (KMOX) — Rumors that Missouri basketball head coach Mike Anderson is leaving to go to Arkansas began on Saturday evening from a report made by a sports reporter in Tulsa, Oklahoma at KTUL-TV.

Now, Gary Parrish of CBS Sports is reporting that a deal is close to being finalized between Anderson and Arkansas. Unlike the original report, Parrish says that his source with the Razorbacks did not expect any formal announcement to be made on Sunday.

When asked about the validity of the swirling rumors, one University of Missouri Athletics spokesperson said, “I’d be surprised.”

Anderson was an assistant coach with the Razorbacks during the team’s glory years under Nolan Richardson. ‘The Fastest 40 Minutes of Basketball’, which is the name of the system Anderson utilizes, is the same as Richardson’s ’40 Minutes of Hell’ style that won a NCAA National Championship in 1994.

    GO HOGS GO!!!

  2. Bryan says:

Anderson stay where you are at. Do not get into that situation at Arkansas and I live here in Little Rock. Razorback fans are hard to deal with at times. I don’t think God himself could undo the mess the Arkansas basketball program is in right now.
