UNIVERSITY CITY (KMOX) – Residents along perennially -flooded Wilson Avenue are hoping to get some answers, at a public meeting tonight on long-awaited buy-outs.

In 2008, two people died when flash flooding consumed homes on the street.

City Manager Lehman Walker says all of the money is in place for buy-outs, but legally-required studies have to be completed before any checks are written.

“We’re in the process now of doing the environmental assessment. The review period will probably be 60-to-90 days, and then we’ll be proceeding as expeditiously as possible with the buy-outs,” Walker tells KMOX.

The meeting starts at 7 o’clock, in the basement of University City’s City Hall.
