ARNOLD, Mo (KMOX)-An Arnold hotel that’s been the site of drug overdoses, prostitution, child porn and rape over the past two years, has been given a respite.

The city had planned to shut down t he Value Place Extended Stay Hotel in Arnold Commons, after police had been called there over 200 times in the last 22 months..

But City Manager Matt Unrein tells KMOX word of the problems finally made it up the corporate ladder and Value Place’s Operations President is heading to Arnold for a Monday morning meeting.

“The gentleman I spoke with this morning said they’ve had problems like this in Phoenix Az. and Charlotte N.C.  They were successful in their efforts there and they believe if they implement this plan it will be successful here in Arnold too.”

Unrein says he doesn’t know the plan’s specifics but if it’s not good enough, they’ll proceed with the closing.
