ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Armed with trash bags and pointy sticks, hundreds of volunteers will fan out across Forest Park this weekend.

Brittany Barton with the Open Space Council of St. Louis says it’s time once again for the annual clean-up tied to Earth Day.

“We’ll provide you with your t-shirt, trash bag, and gloves and everything you’ll need,” Barton said.

While the Canoe and Kayak club will clean the water, hundreds more volunteers will be needed to clean the rest of the park.

Barton says it happening rain or shine, so dress appropriately.

The event runs from 9 a.m to noon Sunday, and volunteers should meet at the Muny parking lot.

The nation will observe Earth Day April 22nd.
