ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Four months after the New Year’s Eve tornado ripped up homes on Court Drive in Sunset Hills, work is underway on some homes in the area but many others show no progress.

Mayor Bill Nolan says many details still need to be hammered out before work can begin.

“There’s details to be worked out between the insurance companies and property owners,” Nolan said. “There’s a lot of issues that are introduced that slowed the process up.”

Nolan says two of the nine condemned houses have been torn down. One family of four whose home was destroyed, he says, has been unable to reach a deal with the insurance company and has been living in a Residence Inn for four months.
