KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) __ A Mexican citizen has pleaded guilty to taking part in a marijuana farming conspiracy in northwestern Missouri.

The U.S. Attorney’s office says 24-year-old Serafin Rodriguez Gonzalez of Kansas City, Kan., entered the plea Thursday in federal court.

More than 80 officers from 14 agencies executed search warrants last July for two suspected marijuana growing sites in Buchanan and Clinton counties. Authorities reported finding about 4,000 growing marijuana plants at a lot in Buchanan County, and roughly 3,000 plants at a site in Clinton County.

They also found campsites with tents and living areas at each location.

Gonzalez was arrested the same day at a home in Kansas City, Kan., where agents also found marijuana, firearms and $3,000 cash. Gonzalez faces up to 40 years in prison and a fine of up to $2 million.
