COTTAGE HILLS, IL. (KMOX) – A Bethalto man is charged with damaging vehicles at a V.F.W.

Patrons at the Cottage Hills V.F.W. at 121 South Williams Street say 45 year old Todd Taylor became upset because he’d spent his rent money at the V.F.W. and threatened to slash everyone’s tires.

When police arrived they found five vehicles that had their tires slashed.  One vehicle was also dented.  When they found Taylor he was bleeding from the head and mouth.

Police called for emergency personnel but Taylor refused medical treatment.

Estimated damage to the vehicles was over $3500. and deputies found a knife in Taylor’s possession.

Taylor claimed he’d been beaten by V.F.W. patrons but no witnesses were located and Taylor could not identify any suspects.

Taylor is being held in the Madison County Jail on $35,000 bond.
