LYNDON CTR, Vt. (AP) __ Lyndon State College in Vermont has a new sports venue for students: a skateboard park.
American Ramp Co. of Missouri, which is located in tornado ravaged Joplin, calls itself the world’s largest skate park provider, will drop off the 6,000 square foot
skate park in pre-fabricated sections. School officials say volunteers in the community will assemble it.
The new park replaces the previous skateboard ramp, which had to be removed because of a parking lot reconstruction.
Lyndon’s Adventure Program Coordinator Jamie Struck says the school took away the students’ ramp, so it decided to step it up with the park.
The new park will feature bank ramps, quarter-pipes, grind rails, stairs, a pyramid section and other features. The grand opening will be announced this fall.
