CREVE COEUR, Mo (KMOX) – Clean up crews from the Metropolitan St. Louis  Sewer District (MSD) are in the process of cleaning up  215,000 gallons of raw sewage from a broken sewer line in  Creve Coeur.

According to MSD, an eight inch sewer main broke near 13 Chamblee Lane in Creve Coeur and the broken main leaked into Smith Creek.

No one was injured. MSD asks residents to stay away from the creek area for at least 48 to 72 hours as a precaution.  The sewage spill was reported to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, as required by law.
