ST. LOUIS, MO.(KMOX)-Former Senator Jack Danforth has a Facebook page and it’s not so that he can catch up with old friends or post photos of his latest vacation, it’s a community page titled, “Draft Jack-Danforth for Governor 2012. No word on who created the page but the description includes the description, “His(Danforth’s) integrity is beyond reproach.”

The effort appears to be aimed at Lt. Governor Peter Kinder’s expected run for governor. Kinder has acknowledged that 17 years ago, he went to strip clubs in the metro east, something he says he is not proud of. He has called the statements about him made by a former Penthouse Pet, personal attacks.

There has been fallout from the scandal. A major donor has asked for a return of thousands in campaign contributions.
Kinder spokesman Jared Craighead says there’s no resolution yet to the dispute with the Joplin donor who wants at least $125,000 in the wake of the scandal. The next big Kinder fundraiser is set for Sept 7th in his hometown of Cape Girardeu with former White House Chief of Staff and Republican Strategist Carl Rove.
Kinder also has support. St. Louis Democrat, Jamillah Nasheed says Kinder would make a good governor and be great for education.

As of Monday afternoon, the “Draft Jack” Facebook page had well over 200 ‘likes’.
