ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — The St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission is asking Cardinals fans to wear red on Tuesday, when the Cardinals will host the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 3 of the National League Divisional Series.

Not that it will take a lot of cajoling, Cardinals fans typically turn out in red for relatively meaningless mid-season games, much less for the playoffs.

Nestle Purina PetCare will hang a 180-foot-by-70-foot sign from its building showing a cat, a dog and a baseball with the words, “Go Cards.”

Civic leaders say the playoffs bring in more visitors and more money to the community.

Can we wear what we like to the reopening of Kiel Opera House which is at least as important, if not more important than a playoff game. Kitty, look west of Tucker for a change?
