ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Finally a bit of good news regarding your utility bill. If you’re a Laclede Gas customer expect to see a drop in your natural gas bil.

The Missouri Public Service Commission says the decrease comes with changes in the wholesale cost of natural gas as well as a change in what’s called the company’s Actual Cost Adjustment factor or ACA.

Laclede Gas Company customers will see natural gas rates drop from .64 cents per therm to 59 cents under a filing that takes effect on November 16, 2011.

The ACA is a mechanism that tracks any over-collection or under-collection of actual natural gas costs over a 12 month period. those balances are then either refunded of collected the next year.

About 65 of 75 percent of a customers natural gas bill reflects the cost from wholesalers which is not regulated by the Public Service Commission.
