KIRKWOOD, Mo. (KMOX)-A serial burglar who was vowing not to go back to prison, is in custody this evening.

Kirkwood Police Detective Steve Urbeck tells KMOX that 41-year-old Charles “Brad” Holzhauer, who is on parole for pervious crimes, was wanted for at least five home burglaries and three car thefts in Kirkwood, Glendale and St. Louis County, in the last two weeks alone, “It seems like every day his name is coming up again. It seems like each time we’re able to locate one of the vehicles,  that he’s connected with the theft of those vehicles we find more evidence in those cars connecting him to those crimes.”

Urbeck says that Thursday night, Holzhauer fled from a Kirkwood officer while driving a stolen car. He ran away after crashing the car into a garage in Webster Groves.

Holzhauer was arrested this afternoon in Saint Louis County without incident.
