ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The Demetrious Johnson Foundation is again providing 2,000 turkey dinners for the less-fortunate in — not only St. Louis— but as far out as Hayti, Missouri and Centreville, Illinois.

Johnson says the need is as great as it’s ever been, “Families not having the ability to do things. Man, it really is terrible out there. So, if we could make somebody’s holidays a little better, that’s what we’re going to do.”

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay joined with hundreds of volunteers in delivering the meals on Saturday, “This is a way to help our neighbors and our fellow St. Louisans who need some help. And also to get together with other St. Louisans to do some good for the community.”

Olympic gold medal winner Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Rams Super Bowl champion Mike Jones were also among the dignitaries lending a helping hand.
