ST. CHARLES, Mo (KMOX) –A trial date has been set for one of the brothers who used to own the bankrupt auto warrant sales firm US Fidelis.

Cory Atkinson is now scheduled to stand trial next September on a list of charges handed down in June by a St. Charles County grand jury.

Cory and his brother Darain were named in a 14 count indictment alleging, among other things, that they kept refunds that were due to consumers and charged fees in excess of the amount stated in the contracts. They’re also accused of misleading customers into believing US Fidelis was affiliated with auto manufacturers and that their warranty had, or was about to expire.

The court has set aside 16 days for Cory’s trial.

Darain’s trial date has not been set.
