ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Shoppers are likely to be out in force again today, but this is the day independent business owners look forward to:  it’s “Small Business Saturday.”

Greg Domain owns Olympic Sporting Goods in the South Hampton Neighborhood. “You wont find better customer service than what you find in a small business. It’s their livelyhood, so they’re out there trying to make a good impression” said Domain.

At the Green Goose re-sale shop, Robin McNabb says business is good and the word is getting out.  “The local community has really supported us so our reach is not only in the neighborhood but we are getting a little further” McNabb told KMOX.

At Southside True Value Hardware, Steve Ripper considers himself part of the neighborhood “The neighbors come in, we take an interest in their projects and they come back” Ripper said.

Nermin Bobic at Cafe Korzo says he plans to expand his coffee shopt to include food items.

Other shop owners in the Hampton Neighborhood point out that money spent there tends to stay there.
