SEYMOUR, Mo. (AP) – An Amish teenager whose buggy was struck from behind by an SUV last week has died at a Springfield hospital.

The Springfield News-Leader reports 18-year-old Peter Zook was declared dead at St. John’s Hospital around 5 p.m. Friday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Zook was driving a buggy Wednesday north of Seymour in southwest Missouri when he was struck by 87-year-old Loin Baker, of Seymour.

Zook was taken to St. John’s by helicopter.
