ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) –  A University City man has been arrested and charged in connection with a hit-&-run early Wednesday that left two people seriously injured.

40-year-old Tom Aloor of the 800 block of Longacre in U. City faces one count of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, a Class D felony.

Police on Wednesday suggested Aloor may have been impaired when he struck two pedestrians on N. Central Avenue, and additional charges may be filed once evidence has been analyzed at the St. Louis County Crime Laboratory.

A 43-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were standing next to their car when they were struck around 1:30 am Wednesday.

A police report indicates that the driver who struck them stopped and offered help, saying he had merely “witnessed” the accident, before driving off.

His car was later located with the windshield heavily damaged.

Bond for Aloor is set at $15,000.
