ST. LOUIS (KMOX) –  St. Louis attorney Ed Martin is dropping his congressional campaign to instead seek the Republican nomination for attorney general.

Martin announced the switch Thursday morning while attempting to link Democratic incumbent Chris Koster to the policies of President Barack Obama.

Right now he’s the only GOP politician who’s running for this post.

This is not the first time Martin has changed course for the 2012 election.

He originally set out to run for U.S. Senate but switched last year to the Second Congressional District race in suburban St. Louis.

Martin also ran for Congress in 2010, narrowly losing to Democrat Russ Carnahan.

Will you do more than go after the ‘dreaded’ telephone marketers? They
are serious threats to the well being of Missouri?. Or, will you go after the big

Sounds like he’ll take any job as long as he thinks he might have a chance to maybe win versus having a real interest and credentials for any of the specific offices. Even less impressed than I was previously.
