ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The man murdered in the Soulard neighborhood early this morning has been identified, as a 34-year-old from Affton.

Police say James Clavin was walking in the 1500 block of South 8th Street, on the north side of the Soulard Market, when he got into an argument with some unidentified men.

Witnesses say they heard gunshots, and the saw the suspects run off.

Clavin was shot in the chest and groin. He died later at a hospital.

Detectives have no suspects, yet.
