ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – St. Louis native Ben Bishop is back in the NHL.

The St. Louis Blues announced today the club has recalled the goaltender from its American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate Peoria Rivermen.

The 25-year-old Bishop  has appeared in 36 games with Peoria this season and leads all AHL goaltenders with a .929 save percentage and six shutouts while his 23 wins (23-13-0) is tied for first and his 2.25 goals against average is fourth best.

The Blues did not specify in their official release, but sources say his call up was due to Blues goalie Jaroslav Halak coming down with the flu.
