ST. LOUIS (KMOX) –  Illinois outdistances Missouri in a new poll on the well-being of its residents.

This new national survey — called the Gallup Healthways Well-Being Index — finds Hawaii residents had the highest well-being last year.

Illinois finished 32 out of all the states.

Missouri 43rd.

West Virginia ranked last.

The rankings are based on answers to daily surveys regarding assessments of our own emotional and physical health, work place environment, healthy behaviors and basic access to healthcare coverage.
