ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — If you are driving by Lumiere Place Casino, the Four Seasons or River City Casino Saturday night between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m., something will be missing.

Lights, the lights will be turned off in support of Earth Hour, a worldwide event where homes and businesses turn-off non-essential lights to raise awareness about climate change.

“The signature light box above our Four Seasons Hotel will be turned off as well as our digital billboard,” said Neil Walkoff, Senior Vice President and General Manager of River City and Lumière.

Candle light dinners will also be served in their restaurant Cielo.

By going dark for one hour across all properties, Walkoff says they’ll save approximately 14,000 kilowatt hours of energy consumption.

Lumiere joins 5200 cities worldwide taking part in Earth Hour.
