ST. LOUIS (AP) — A well-known St. Louis pastor and civil rights leader says he hopes to be back in the pulpit full-time in May as he recovers from a massive heart attack.

The Rev. Earl Nance spoke briefly at the pulpit during Easter Sunday services at Mount Carmel Baptist Church. He had been out nearly four months following the heart attack that nearly killed him.

Nance suffered chest pains at home on Dec. 18 and told his wife. He was rushed to Barnes-Jewish Hospital and says he if had waited another 10 minutes he would have died.

Nance, who is 58, returned home three weeks ago but continues various forms of therapy.
