3127 longfellow 1 2 The Mansions of Compton Heights Win Free Tickets to House Tour!
Compton Heights is one St. Louis City’s gems. This Old House magazine named it one of the “Best Old House Neighborhoods” in the country in 2011.

All this week on Total Information AM, listen for your chance to win a pair of tickets to the Compton Heights 2012 House Tour (May 19-20).

The tour features 13 architecturally significant homes built between 1891 and 1925, including the 30-room Magic Chef Mansion and the home where Irma Rombauer, author of “Joy of Cooking” grew up.

Tickets can be purchased the day of the event at Grand and Longfellow. Plenty of street parking and shuttle buses are available, although the distance between the homes is easily walkable.

Come see the neighborhoods established by the last turn-of-the-century beer barons! Beautifully and lovingly preserved, Compton Heights is a gorgeous slice of history.
