ST. LOUIS (AP)  – The No. 1 ranked chess player in the U.S. has won the U.S. Men’s Chess Championship in St. Louis.

The Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis said in a news release Saturday that Hikaru Nakamura, of St. Louis, won after his opponent resigned about two and a half hours into play.

The Chess Club hosted the event.
