A school in Grand Center adds a new daytime vibrancy to the City’s arts district. It also brings new life to an old office building and parking garage that sat empty for years–an abandoned, boarded-up eyesore right across the street from Powell Symphony Hall. The Grand Center Arts Academy is finishing up its first full school year in its “new” facility.

The adaptive reuse of the old Carter Carburator offices and the Knights of Pythias parking garage has earned the Grand Center Arts Academy a place on the Landmarks Association of St. Louis‘ “2012 Most Enhanced List.”
