ST. LOUIS (KMOX) –  A robber who was chased down by Good Samaritans has now been charged.

35-year-old Stanley Lampley is accused of approaching a woman walking her dog on St. Charles Street in St. Louis Wednesday night, sticking his hand in his pocket and telling her he had a gun.

After the woman handed over her wallet Lampley struck the victim in the face and took off running, but several bystanders who had seen the whole thing chased him down and held him until police arrived.

The money was recovered and Lampley, who’s homeless, admitted the crime.

He’s being held on 1st-degree robbery charges.
