ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Planning a big football-watching party?

Here are some tips from St. Louis University assistant professor of clinical lab science & germ expert Donna Duberg, “You need to be very careful when you prepare the food. Have clean counters. Be careful with vegetables and rinse them very well. Keep cold foods cold.”

Duberg says the best way of preventing the spread of harmful bacteria at your snack table is to have a no double-dipping policy, “Use individual packages of potato chips, Doritos, Fritos, or whatever, so they can take a small serving of their dip and a small serving of the dipper with them.”

Duberg says studies show acts of double-dipping could transfer up to 10,000 germs from the eater to the remaining dip.
