EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOX) – A 20-year-old man has been jailed in connection to a rape and robbery that occurred late last month in East St. Louis.

Police say Marlon M. Miller is being held on $500,000 bond on three felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and one count of attempted armed robbery.

The 32-year-old victim told investigators she was walking home after getting off a train at the Emerson Park MetroLink station in the early morning hours of Jan. 29th when she was attacked.

The suspect took the woman’s cash then led her to a secluded area where he raped her.

He then struck the victim in the head with his gun and ran off.
