BERKELEY (KMOX) – Boeing announced early Thursday morning that it is suspending operations during Thursday’s second shift.

“Due to ongoing inclement weather, first shift employees are encouraged to return home,” spokeswoman Chamila Jayaweera said in a statement.

All “essential maintenance personnel” were still required to report for work and Jayaweera said Boeing officials would decide the fate of third shift operations later tonight.

“Where feasible, employees who have management approval to work remotely can do so in accordance with Boeing procedures,” the statement said.
