It’s become a tradition. . .N-C-A-A Bracket parties where the teams get together to see where they fit in the tournament brackets.

The Billikens, who had just won the Sunday afternoon Atlantic Ten tournament championship game in Brooklyn, planned to have their bracket party at the airport before they flew back to St. Louis.

But, New York traffic got the better of the Bills and that’s where some quick thinking kicked in.

Realizing they wouldn’t get to the airport in time, the team bus pulled into a Best Buy Store in Secaucus, New Jersey and asked if they could watch the ceremony on a store tv set?

Best Buy said “yes” and escorted the team into their home theater viewing room where the players heard they’re among the top seeds in the tournament.

The Bills are now getting ready to play New Mexico State Thursday afternoon in San Jose.  Game time is 1.10, central.

Other area teams in the tourney include Missouri.  The Tigers play Colorado State, again in the N-C-A-A Midwest Regional, Thursday night at 8.20pm, central, in Lexington, Kentucky.

Illinois, also in the N-C-A-A, plays Colorado in Austin Friday afternoon at 3.40, central. – Bob Hamilton, KMOX News
