ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Police say they know who shot a man who answered a Craigslist ad in north St. Louis, they now have to find them.

The shooting happened Wednesday evening. Police say the victim went to a north side neighborhood to look at a car he saw on Craigslist but as he pulled up to the home in the 4400 block of Elmbank around 8 p.m. two men approached him.

One of the men began firing several shots into the victim’s car before running off.

The victim was able to drive to an auto parts store on Natural Bridge to get help. He’s now in stable condition despite reports that he had been hit four times.

In December, 29-year-old Deondre Elam of Chesterfield was shot and killed when he went into St. Louis’ Vandaventer neighborhood to sell his car to a man who had contacted him through Craigslist.

17-year-old Tierrance Davis is being held without bond awaiting trial in that case.
