SHILOH, Ill. (KMOX) –  The search continues for a gunman who held up the Payless ShoeSource at the Greenmount Crossing shopping center in Shiloh Thursday morning.

According to Shiloh police chief Jim Stover, the suspect entered the store at 9:35 am and announced a robbery, running out after an employee handed over an undetermined amount of cash.

“He was last seen on the Target parking lot,” according to Stover.

The suspect’s described as a dark-complected black male, 5’7″ to 5’8″, with a slim build.

He was wearing a black, “felt-like” jacket and jeans, as well as a nylon mask.

Stover points out there were a large number of potential witnesses at the always-busy shopping center.

“He ran past the Target and the World Market, there were quite a few people who were out shopping,” he says. “If any customers of those places saw him we’d appreciate them calling.”

The number for the Shiloh police department is (618) 632-9047.
