ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The owner of Union Station says he is about to start a long-promised renovation.

Bob O’Loughlin, Chairman of Lodging Hospitality Management, which owns Union Station, says they will begin renovating by the end of this month.

“We’re renovating all of the guest rooms and we’re going to have an experience up in the Grand Hall that is similar to what you see at the Peabody in Memphis with the ducks or the Bellagio with the fountains where you’ll hear trains from a distance and have an experience of the Grand Hall,” O’Loughlin explained.

O’Loughlin’s plans call for more office space, less retail, and trains running from Union Station to various destinations.

“We’re going to have live excursion trains come out and take you down to the wine country, they could take you to a Chicago Cubs-Cards game in Chicago, to Kansas City,” he said.
