ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) — No tickets matched all six numbers to win the $360 million Powerball jackpot Wednesday night, but one player in Missouri matched all five white-ball numbers to win a cool $1 million.

That ticket was sold at Telegraph Liquors, 5661 Telegraph Road, in St. Louis.

Store owner Brian Denton says it’s the first really big winner that he’s ever sold at Telegraph Liquor, although he’s been promising his customers something like this would happen for years now.

“Been here for 32 years…it was only a matter of time with as many tickets I sell that somebody wins something,” Denton tells KMOX News.

In fact Denton’s first thought upon hearing that a $1 million winner had been sold at his store was that he himself might be a millionaire.

He thought he remembered buying a quick pick for Wednesday night’s big Powerball drawing, but then realized that he’d only done that for the Pick 3 — and that he hadn’t won that, either.

But he’s excited at the thought that one of his “regulars” might be holding that winning ticket.

“We want to remind players to check their tickets closely,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery. “Even though you might not have matched all six numbers, you may have won one of the eight other prizes.”

Another player in Missouri also matched four white-ball numbers and the Powerball to win $10,000. That ticket was sold at QuikTrip, 16100 Manchester Road, in Ellisville. In all, more than $1.3 million in Powerball prizes, ranging from $4 to $1 million, were sold in Missouri. The winning numbers were: 2, 11, 26, 34, 41, and the Powerball number was 32.

“It only takes one ticket to win,” she said.

Players have until 8:59 p.m. Saturday to purchase Powerball tickets in Missouri. The jackpot will roll to $475 million – the second largest ever – for Saturday night’s drawing.

In addition to Powerball, the Mega Millions jackpot for Friday night’s drawing is also high – an estimated $190 million.
