Ron Howard’ directs one of the best films of his career with the release of the thrilling new motion picture about the world for Formula  1 racing  in the 1970s called “Rush.”

The story revolves around true events and the intense rivalry between a pair of famous drivers. Chris Hemsworth plays James Hunt, a playboy British media darling whose talent as a driver is matched by his willingness to be irresponsible as a driver and a person. Hunt calls the car he drives “a coffin siting on high-octane fuel.”

Daniel Bruhl plays Austrian drive Niki Lauda, a wealthy young man who has forsaken his family’s money to pursue his dream to be a Formula1 driver. Lauda is the polar opposite of Hunt. Lauda is a design and engineering perfectionist who plans for success. Hunt is a risk-taker driven primarily by speed. As their careers begin to blossom and the two drivers embark on a heated personal rivalry, they elevate the entire sport of Formula 1.

Lauda is severely burned on the upper part of his body is an accident on a wet track. In two months, and against medical advice, he is back on the track to continue his battle with Hunt to be the number one driver in the world.

“Rush” is a rare film in that it combines the excitement and danger in the world of Formula 1 racing with intensely personal detailed character studies of both Lauda and Hunt. Sound design, scoring, editing and cinematography are all Academy Award caliber. Hemsworth and Bruhl give riveting performances. “Rush” is the best film on this type racing ever made. Make “Rush” the next movie you see.
