GRANITE CITY, Ill. (KMOX) – An arrest has been made in a school zone hit-and-run in Granite City.

On Friday afternoon a mother in her minivan was at Frohardt School in Granite City to pick up her kids when her vehicle was struck by the driver of an SUV who then fled the scene.

Granite City Police say an anonymous tip a short time later led them to the arrest of a 25-year-old male.

The mother, along with her three kids, ages ten-years-old, five-years-old, and four-months-old, drove to the hospital to get checked out. They are all OK.

Sgt. Aaron Flynn of the Granite City Police Department said charges of hit and run involving personal injuries will likely be filed Monday.
