DEKALB, Ill. (AP)- As many as 30,000 spectators are expected in DeKalb to watch next weekend’s eight state football championship games.

WNIJ-FM reports ( ) the northern Illinois community is hosting the finals for the first time. DeKalb will alternate hosting duties for the final games with Champaign-Urbana as part of arrangement with the Illinois High School Association that runs through 2021.

To prepare, officials are swapping out the goal posts at Northern Illinois University’s Huskie Stadium and amassing a fleet of about 200 volunteers who will help spectators and fans.

The games for class 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A will be played next Friday. Finals for class 5A, 6A, 7A and 8A will be played the following day.
