ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – St. Louis business executives got a taste of life on the street.

Rams Chief Operating Officer Kevin Demoff was among those who spent Thursday night sleeping on a cardboard box in a north St. Louis parking lot to learn what life is like for homeless teens.

“It was immensely tiring for one day. I could not imagine what it’s like everyday,” Demoff told KMOX.

The Executive Sleep Out, sponsored by the Covenant House, was designed to raise awareness about the homeless youth throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area.

“How you felt the next day trying to get up and function… we just did it for one night and it was amazingly impactful for me,” Demoff said.

Adding when you sleep outside you really can’t stay asleep for more than 20 minutes at a time.

The Executive Sleep Out was held in about a dozen cities across the United States.
