ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -What St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher suspected after Sunday’s game with Tampa Bay was confirmed, Monday. Offensive lineman Jake Long has a torn ACL in his leg & will miss the final game of the season.

Not only that, Long also tore the MCL in the leg during the first series of the Buccaneers game.

During his Monday afternoon news conference, Fisher said he didn’t expect the injuries to be career-ending for his left tackle, “I would have confidence in Jake coming back. He’s an exceptional athlete and takes care of himself.”

As for Long’s replacement, Fisher said former starting left tackle Rodger Saffold will get the call against Seattle, “Rodger is a tremendous athlete, and when healthy, you can put him up there with some of the best in the league.”

When the Rams picked up Jake Long as a free agent this past offseason, Saffold moved to offensive guard.
