John Wayne, Maureen O’Hara and director John Ford were all good friends in real life. Some film historians feel that their collaboration in the 1952 movie “The Quiet Man” represented some of their best work.

“The Quiet Man” is the story of an American boxer who returns to his native Ireland to start a new page in his life. Maureen O’Hara plays a proud but poor lass who catches his eye. The Irish country side is beautiful in this memorable love story shot in Technicolor. The supporting cast features some outstanding character actors of that time, including Barry Fitzgerald and Ward Bond.

The screening of “The Quiet Man” is part of The Hi Pointe’s very popular Saturday morning classic film series. It will be shown one time only on March 8 at 10:30 AM. Doors at the Hi Pointe open at 10:00 AM. Admission is $5 per person for all ages. For more information, click on the link below.
