ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – To celebrate his retirement, longtime KMOX Sports Director Ron Jacober got to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the St. Louis Cardinals game on Thursday, May 29, 2014.

Ron has covered St. Louis sports on radio and television for 44 years, serving as Sports Director at KMOX for two decades. The host of “Sports on a Sunday Morning” for 27 years on KMOX, Ron announced his retirement earlier this month.

He’s won numerous awards from the Missouri Broadcasters Association. And his work on KSDK television earned him two Emmy Awards. Ron is a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, St. Louis Radio Hall of Fame and St. Louis Media Hall of Fame.

Through the years, Ron worked on broadcast teams for the Cardinals, Blues, St. Louis University basketball, Missouri Tiger football and St. Louis Steamers and Ambush soccer. He’s covered Super Bowls, World Series, Stanley Cups and Final Fours.

His wife Lois, granddaughter Sarah and grandson Mike, joined him on the field to congratulate him for an outstanding career in sports.
